Since 1971, a statue of pioneer aviator Amelia Earhart has stood at the corner of Tujunga Avenue and Magnolia Boulevard. But in 2021 a motorist jumped the curb, crashing into the pedestal, causing multiple damages to the monument. In July, Council President Krekorian joined North Hollywood community members to rededicate the thoroughly restored monument with a newly engraved dedicatory plaque.

Among many other accomplishments, Amelia Earhart was the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. She lived and worked in the San Fernando Valley in her youth and at the time of her death was living in Toluca Lake. The statue is placed in front of the Amelia Earhart Public Library and faces a building where she she worked as a stenographer before winning fame for her airborne exploits.
