VALLEY VILLAGE - For more than 70 years, Carter Sexton Artist's Materials has been the San Fernando Valley's premier art store for the community and movie studios alike.In 1944, the store's namesake founded the business as a Mayline Drafting Furniture supplier to the region's booming entertainment industry. The family-owned and -operated business quickly grew to become a one-stop shop for artists and industry creatives for all their art supply needs. In 2010, the business was named as one of LA's best art suppliers by LA Magazine.
Carter Sexton Artist's Materials carries a wide variety of supplies for art, drafting and sculpting, such as oils, acrylics, pastels, brushes, custom canvases, specialty papers and tools, and much more. Chris Hauser, who has been a part of the business for nearly 30 years, now owns and operates the store with his wife Jenia and host of knowledgeable staff who are dedicated to providing high-quality service to customers.
Earlier this year, Carter Sexton participated as a gift sponsor for Councilmember Krekorian's Armenian Genocide Centennial Art Contest, generously providing winners with gift certificates to store.
