On a daily basis it's not easy to gauge the great contribution of city employees to both the beautification and upkeep of CD2. But annual statistics released by Streets LA leave no doubt.To cite a few examples; in 2019, Urban Forestry trimmed 2,792 trees, and Street Maintenance swept 14,226 curb miles.
Javier Frias, who joined my team in September, is in the field every day, responding to service requests from constituents. On a random week in December Javier's task list included collecting fallen leaves and branches and cleaning weeds and trash that were creeping through a Caltrans fence.Keeping streets paved and sidewalks clear across CD2 is certainly a challenge. Yet between the city and my staff, we have in place the resources and commitment to meet it.
