The City Council has approved Council President Krekorian's nomination of reform advocate Robert M. Stern to serve on the Los Angeles City Ethics Commission.
A nationally recognized expert in the fields of campaign finance and government reform, Stern was a principal co-author of California's Political Reform Act, and a principal drafter of the City of Los Angeles Ethics and Public Campaign Financing law, approved by the city’s voters in 1990. He was the first general counsel of the California Fair Political Practices Commission, and a past President of the Council on Governmental Ethics Laws.
“Bob Stern is one of the greatest champions of government reform in the history of California,” said Council President Krekorian. “No one could be more qualified to serve on our City’s Ethics Commission, or better equipped to help us restore the people’s trust in our City government.”
