LOS ANGELES - This past weekend, LA Metro moved a step closer toward having an all-electric fleet of buses on our roadways. The long-awaited bus charging platforms opened at North Hollywood Station, first of their kind along the Orange Line. In October 2016, Councilmember Krekorian put forth a motion before the Metro Board calling for an implementation plan to use all electric buses for the Orange Line Bus Rapid Transit Line.
North Hollywood is the first of three new charging stations installed with the development of battery electric buses for the San Fernando Valley's G Line (Orange).
When it opened in 2005, the Orange Line represented a new, innovative, and cleaner option for people traveling back and forth across the San Fernando Valley. The beginning rollout of electric buses continues that process.
