Home at Last After Years On the Street

Melissa and her mother lost their home in 2019. The next five years were a difficult struggle. Things took a turn for the better when they made contact with Hope the Mission and moved into the Alexandria Tiny Homes. There, Melissa's caseworker Ashley connected her with mental health services to recover from the experience of homelessness, and helped her collect the documents she needed to apply for permanent housing. With the assistance of LA Family Housing, she and her mother have both moved into homes of their own. Melissa is looking forward to cooking homemade meals in her own kitchen and getting to know new neighbors and a new community.
