LOS ANGELES - In recent weeks, a number of alarming reports have revealed the effect of vaping products on youth and young adults, including lung disease and death. This week, Councilmember Krekorian introduced a motion requesting that the City Attorney impose a one-year prohibition on the sale of all cannabis products and associated accessories used for vaping within the City of Los Angeles. The measure also seeks recommendations from the Department of Cannabis Regulation on steps that the Council should take to compel the cannabis industry to remove all known threats to public health from cannabis vaping products.
The motion will be heard by the Council's Rules, Elections, and Intergovernmental Relations Committee.
