Krekorian Talks Transit with Valley Residents

LOS ANGELES - This week, Councilmember and Metro Board Member Paul Krekorian spoke with thousands of San Fernando Valley residents during an interactive telephone town hall meeting to discuss the Metro's plan to ease traffic.Residents in the eastern San Fernando Valley were encouraged to participate to discuss Metro's draft spending plan for a possible November ballot measure. The Metro plan includes a timeline and funding amounts for a number of countywide transit, highway, local, pedestrian and bicycle projects over the next 40 years.
Councilmember Krekorian spoke specifically about connecting the Valley to the basin via the Sepulveda Pass, bringing light rail to the Van Nuys corridor, dramatically improving the Orange Line, moving us toward new bus rapid transit lines, expanding bike paths and pedestrian walkways, and easing traffic congestion in our neighborhoods.
