LA City Council Moves to Reject Anti-Immigrant, Anti-Muslim Policies

LOS ANGELES - The LA City Council unanimously voted to support the drafting of a city law that prevents city employees from participating in President Trump's threatened database of Muslims and refugees.The motion, introduced by Councilmember Krekorian, also instructs the Los Angeles Police Department and City Attorney to report on their efforts to respond to hate crimes and ensure the safety of Muslim Americans, immigrants and other minority communities. The City Council also voted to study the impact of threatened federal funding cuts by the new administration.
