Posted on 07/05/2022

As Chair of the Budget and Finance Committee, Councilmember Krekorian secured the funding to renovate, reopen and reactivate the Lankershim Arts Center. A registered historic landmark, built by the Department of Water and Power in 1939, the Lankershim Arts Center will now serve the community as a public resource operated by the Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA) and will be available for performances, classes, exhibitions and community events. Councilmember Krekorian joined interim DCA head Daniel Tarica, and members of DeafWest Theatre, Turbine Arts Collective, Leigh Purtill Ballet, FocusFish, Muralism and other members of the NoHo Arts community to celebrate the Centers rebirth as a vital hub of the NoHo Arts District.
