Middle School Marches to the Beat of an Award-Winning Drumline

NORTH HOLLYWOOD - This spring, James Madison Middle School's drumline team won the "Drums Across California" state championship title. The team dominated the competition, winning nine out of 10 categories and capturing the coveted "Gold Drum" award for best overall performance. It was the first year that the team competed in the indoor drumline competition.The team is made up of 23 middle school students, grades six through eight, and is coached by Jonathan Juatco, a former member of the prestigious Black Knight Drum Corp. Councimember Krekorian honored the Madison Middle School Drumline team with a special city certificate and invited them to kick off this year's LA Student Film Festival at the El Portal Theater with a rousing performance.Congratulations Bulldogs!
