North Hollywood - This week, the phrase "Thank you for your service" took on added meaning in CD2. The council approved a motion by Councilmember Krekorian to clear the final legal hurdles that will enable construction of 12 homes for low-income veterans and their families in North Hollywood.
The two-story, three-bedroom dwellings will be located on the 5600 block of Elmer Avenue. The project includes a community outdoor space.
The work will be performed by Homes4Families, an organization founded in Los Angeles in 2008 to provide affordable housing for veteran families.
