Council President Krekorian opened a new recreation area along the Chandler Bike Path, between Cartwright and Satsuma Avenues. Improvements to the Bike Path include new recreational equipment, new signage, landscaping, accessibility improvements, and path drainage, as well as two striking new murals by local artists Paul Juno and Narbeh Leon.
“Fortunately we were able to identify funding to pay for those improvements,” said Council President Krekorian. When surplus funds remaining from the dissolution of California’s Community Redevelopment Agency became available for use in North Hollywood, the Council President’s office engaged in discussion with the community to determine what its priorities were. “I’m glad the Chandler Bike Path was one of those priorities for the community, just as it was for me,” said Krekorian.

“This is exactly the kind of project that allows our community to grow and become stronger,” said former Assemblymember Nazarian, who procured State funds for completion of the Chandler Bike Path. “Because when there are people on the street using the public right of way, it makes the community safer.”
