SUN VALLEY - This week, Councilmember Krekorian activated a new traffic signal in Sun Valley, the second signal added this month in the East Valley neighborhood. In a continued effort to make roads safer, Councilmember Krekorian worked with the Los Angeles Department of Transportation to install the traffic signal at the intersection of Strathern Street and Cleon Avenue. According to the LADOT, the intersection, which is located next to Roscoe Elementary School, experiences one of the highest volumes of pedestrian foot traffic in the city when school is in session. In addition to the signal, city engineers widened the connecting crosswalks to create safer pathways for kids and families as they make the walk to school.
