NORTH HOLLYWOOD, VAN NUYS - Yesterday, the Los Angeles City Planning Commission voted to approve two permanent supportive housing projects in CD2 - NoHo 5050 and The Confianza. These two projects will provide 96 units of permanent supportive housing to the district.NoHo 5050, located at 5050 Bakman Avenue in North Hollywood, will be partnering with the Downtown Women's Center to provide services to women who have experienced chronic homelessness. The project will have a total of 40 units, 32 of which are Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH). Of the remaining units, seven are set aside for low-income with one market rate manager's unit. Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in July 2020.
The Confianza, located at 14142 Vanowen Street in Van Nuys, will be managed and operated by Skid Row Housing Trust. The project will have a total of 64 units - 63 of which are Permanent Supportive Housing, with one market rate manager's unit. Construction for this project is tentatively scheduled to begin in September 2020.
Councilman Krekorian's office worked with developers on both projects to address initial community concerns, and welcomes these additional permanent supportive housing developments to CD2.
