LOS ANGELES - The City Council approved a motion to increase funding for Neighborhood Councils. The measure, which was introduced by Councilmember Krekorian and Council President Herb Wesson, provides $5000 in additional discretionary funds to the neighborhood groups."Funding for important neighborhood services faced devastating cuts during the Great Recession," said Councilmember Krekorian. "While the economic crisis presented many challenges, we've worked hard to restore the city's budget and set Los Angeles on a path to stability. This is a great step toward restoring important resources that will enhance our quality of life and further empower our neighborhoods."
