The interim shelters that Council President Krekorian has built in the Second District — two A Bridge Home facilities and three Tiny Home cabin communities — are designed to assist the unhoused in making the transition from life on the street to permanent housing where possible, supportive housing if needed.

We protect the privacy of the men and women who benefit from this program, but occasionally the clients we serve ask to share their stories, in the hope that their success will inspire others to make the transition from life on the streets. In the next few weeks, we will share a glimpse of some of these success stories.

James G. is leaving the Whitsett West Tiny Homes for permanent housing in a safe community. He is very appreciative of the support he received at Whitsett West while he waited for long-term housing. He credits the staff of Hope the Mission from helping him overcome his personal challenges. “I was fighting demons, and I actually overcame a portion of it with the help of staff,” he says. “I wouldn’t be able to get housing if it wasn't for the program.”
